Our ESH Vision:

  • To achieve zero loss time injury, ill-health cases, environmental incidents and authority citations
  • To conduct business in an effective, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner

Our ESH Mission:
  • To fully integrate ESH into employee working culture which conforms to sustainable development approaches  
  • To comply with relevant ESH legal and corporate requirements
  • To manage ESH using a management systems approach

Our ESH Management System

Tractors Malaysia takes the ESH Management System approach to manage the ESH issues arising from our activities. Our ESH Management System is certified to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001.

Various ESH Programs are conducted as part of Tractors Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to ensure that safety and health of employees, visitors, contractors and our surrounding environment are not compromised.  Some of these programmes include:

Emergency Preparedness & Response Programmes

  • Emergency Response Plans for Fire, Explosion Gas Leakage, Chemical Spillage, Bomb Threat, Suspicious Package, Civil Disturbance, Flood, General First Aid,  Haze and Outbreak of Disease (Pandemic Preparedness & Response Plan)
  • Emergency Response Team comprises of-Evacuation Team, Fire Fighter & Rescue Team, First Aid Team and Spill Control Team
  • Annual Emergency Training provided For Emergency Response Team
  • Regular Emergency Drills with external and internal Emergency Response members

Chronology of Events (FY 2006/07 & 2007/08)

  • November 2006 – Part of ISO 14001 environmental objectives – placed colour-coded recycling bins at TEC main workshops
  • June 07 – Invited MPSJ to provide talk to servicemen on 3R Programme
  • August 07 – Changed from individual printers to multifunction copier (Six Sigma Project with Facilities & Admin Dept - paper consumption reduction project)
  • August 07 – conducted waste classification for TEC office and workshop waste
  • 30 November 2007 - ESH Week – ESH Culture for a Better Future – theme included Waste Management Exhibition on 3R programme
  • Jan 2008 – Initiated recycling efforts by the cleaning, pantry and canteen contractors
  • Jan 2008 – Initiated collaboration with DOE on handphone and accessories recycling bin placement at TEC canteen
  • February 2008 – Initiated recycling programmes at branches and subsidiaries
  • Jan 2008 to date – Initiated monitoring of amount of waste recycled
  • 5 June 2008 - World Environment Day – ESH Dept gave out plants to each employee with minimum 1kg of recyclable items (paper, plastics, aluminium cans).  Proceeds of recyclables were donated to charity

  • July 2008 – initiated 3R stickers to conserve energy and water
  • November 08 – Initiated 3R Committee at TEC
  • January 09 – Canteen operator stop using Styrofoam containers for drinks and food take aways
  • March 09 – Presented 3R Initiatives to Managing Director
  • March 09 – Pasted reminders near Photostat machines on double side printing
  • 22 April 09 – Initiated Composting of Garden Waste at TEC
  • May 09 – 3R Directive on Mandatory 3R Initiatives at all operating units on energy, water and natural resource conservation. memo 3R.pdf
  • May 09 – Changed to small cup type mineral water container for visitors and meetings
  • 5 June 09 – Compost Talk and First Harvest of Compost
